"Painting and creativity has been an evolution but also dwelling from a natural, I believe God given instinct and exploration. That is the blessing of each piece, impressed upon me, sometimes in an instant  then waiting to birth and take form and sometimes it's like searching to find home."

Christina has her studio in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex but has lived and exhibited internationally.
She is also a writer, mentor, coach, counsellor and Radio show host.

Meet the Artist

A Journey of Brushstrokes and Faith

By Christina Tracy

"My work is a constant wheel of change that varies in visual language, it's diverse, symbolic, narrative, metaphorical, and often it's representational edging towards photographic but I love to play with the subtle and emphasis and I feel I am a seasonal painter who is happy to explore each season but not stay stuck in one..

My work is split into different expressions and I'm not sure if thats different parts of me,  the spiritual, the creation, people and more so the last years wildlife.

My intention is to produce paintings that call out the heart of the viewer, narrating my tendency for storytelling, observing reality, the creation, creatures and people in awareness in life and mostly in my personal search for God.

I explore light, colour, essence, energy, space, and in many works that are not animals I reach for the sacred  of God and Christ, sometimes in abstract ways, but without losing sight of physical reality or beauty of what mirrors the Creator.

So really there-in creating power in the suggestive for that is where the power and beauty of painting the creator's language and presence are held for me.

Painting and creativity has been an evolution but also dwelling from a natural, I believe God given instinct and exploration. That is the blessing of each piece, impressed upon me, sometimes in an instant  then waiting to birth in agony and take form and sometimes it's like searching to find home again.

Painting is where I can lose the world and life's struggles and have it out in my expression to process and surrender it to God.

I feel like painting is one long dialogue and prayer and this melds with my faith.

The galleries of the body of work show reveal my evolution for sure, I don't hide the earlier works as being real is important.

The last years I have leaned in more to the creation and our Creator  to bring in the metaphorical language, majesty and holy presence for the viewer to experience an intimate moment and feel the beauty of Him in all aspects of the physical or unseen aspects of the divine.

The process captures an ancient beautiful language,  and personally for me to love, to heal, to transform and catch that mystery and sense between heaven and earth which is glued between love and fear in the reflection of our lives, in nature and in man.

I hope to leave a legacy of my love and shafts of light and narrative paintings, leading a way for others to find solace in the darkness and even to help others explore God's eternal purpose rather than just re-creating a scape or a scene."
